Goods Lift Refurbishment
Another refurbishment project for an extremely tired and well used goods lift. This was set within an old mill with a busy production system in place. Working closely with on site management was key to make sure that all safety protocols were kept too, along with achieving a good turn around on the refurb.
This old traction goods lift had multiple challenges, one being the location of the existing plant room which was up a set of ladders with a small access hatch to use for the removal process and replacement of new equipment. Despite the incredibly limited space and the challenges posed by the quirks of the old mill building, we successfully achieved a clean and polished result within the specified scope of work.
Basic scope of works on this project:
- Full removal of electrical package to include panel, shaft and car wiring.
- Replacement of machine/gear box with a new steel gear raft.
- Full re rope with new anchorages and fixings.
- Lift car top new checker plate to eliminate the old tripping hazards caused by the existing timber frame, creating a new clean base for our car top equipment to be fit too.
- Car track and gate replacement.
- New car reline and car operating panel.
- All new landing gates.
- All new landing fixtures and fixings including gate locks.
With the completion of the goods lift refurbishment, it has injected new life into the system, ensuring smooth production operations and keeping the entire workforce content with essentially a brand-new lift that will serve for years to come.
